Successor to the Kauai Railway Company, founded in 1906. Principal Activities-hauling sugar and supplies between plantation and port and conducting terminal operations at Eleele Landing. In 1907, Kauai Railway Company began building breakwater, wharf and other improvements at Eleele Landing (renamed Port Allen in 1909). Building supply department established, 1928. Company changed name to Kauai Terminal, Ltd., 1936. Remaining railway operations taken over by trucks, 1947. Company divested itself of terminal (stevedoring) operations, changed name to Kauai Commercial Company, 1951. In 1971, company divested itself of building supply department and concentrated on trucking. Moved to modern facility at present site in Puhi, 1985.

Comment : I live in Hawaii and I have used Kauai Commercial once when I had to relocate. I keep hearing that they are the best in the neighborhood. I myself had no trouble with them. The entire operation was smooth and it was a win- win for everybody. They were really great in professionalism and punctuality! I had expected them to over-price for their services but the price was way too reasonable and was almost too good to be true! It was one of the best moving experiences that I had ever witnessed. The movers that used earlier were a complete rip- off! The crew that was dispatched to me was the best and I could not have asked for better! They were very well mannered and polite. They had a lot of experience in the field and it was showing. They helped me in every little thing and they were very attentive to detail! I loved these guys!

Comment : A truck driver came to pick up a container and he was very, VERY RUDE! He drove off, burning rubber, and did not take the container with him. We called the office to talk to a manager and make a complaint. The office receptionist said they were a family owned business and there was no manager to speak with and we could tell her our complaint. When we did, she started snapping at us saying "Thats my uncle you are talking about" and "screw you!" then she hung up on us!!! I have NEVER come across such a RUDE company. We are the customers. Whatever happened to customer service?! Long story short, our container did not get picked up after the driver sped off and they charged us an additional fee for another day of keeping the container, when we called to get them to pick up. TERRIBLE SERVICE!

Comment : Steve Jr. is RUDE to his customers. I have never in my life encountered such a rude individual. I am the CUSTOMER. He took over 2 months to be available for service, so long so that I forgot I even needed servicing. My employees finally got him to arrange it and he is just a rude, condescending, did I say RUDE individual. My office is based out of Oahu. I have the check book and credit cards to pay here. I am not going to get on a plane today to pay him and I am not going to fax him my checking account information, especially when he is so unprofessional that one would wonder if he is even a legit businessman. He is THAT unprofessional and rude. Just unbelievable. I have never encountered someone so rude in my life. They take over 2 months to get their collective stuff together and then they act like they are doing ME a favor by finally being available and giving me last minute notice. So unprofessional.

Comment : While visiting Kauai last week I had a work related emergency come up requiring that I get over 300 pages of documents printed. Anna at Kauai was so kind and helpful, and the price was super reasonable. I hope I do not have to work while on a Kauai vacation too often but KBS would be my go to for any printing jobs I might need. Mahalo, Anna
